The Pros And Cons Of Clean Fracking Technology

By Linda Schmidt

Hydraulic fracturing is better known as fracking is a drilling method used for drilling both oil and natural gases from deep underground. Many argue that it is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective method while others see it as a major contribution to contamination in the world due to pollution level release to the atmosphere. The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of clean fracking technology.

The economy grows stronger due the fact that many people around get employed and thus crime rate reduce. Take an example of a country which has recently been able to provide natural gas and oil for themselves. The money that they previously used to buy these products can be directed to new projects. If they have enough to export, then they will have even more money to improve their livelihoods.

Carbon gas is one of the major causes of depletion of the ozone layer and global warming. The available oil and gases are enough to sustain a country for a long time to come. People want to save the environment by not depleting it. This is possible once people figure out have to harvest and store energy from the wind and sun.

It is a source of employment. Mining of any sort promises a lot of job for both unskilled and skilled workers. The whole thing is a process that requires people present at all the stages. The drilling is done 24hours a day which means that there will be an opening for jobs in all the states engaging in the activity. Crime goes down, and the economy improves.

Besides all the positive things that come with fracking, there still is the negative side of it. It is harmful both to humans and the environment. As much as there is no more carbon emission, the exhaust pipes of the tankers produce a lot more harmful gas. There is also a lot of noise that comes from the drilling and disturbs the people around.

We all need water to be able to go about our daily activities. Unfortunately, there comes a time when the earth is really dry, and water becomes a problem. It does not help the situation when this water, instead of being used by people, it is being used at the drilling site. Both people, animals and the environment suffer.

There is the risk of water being contaminated. The gases or even some of the oil may accidentally get into the water pipes especially when you are not sure where they are located. They may lead to a lot of people falling sick and even suffering fatal damages. Many home owners have complained of getting traces of chemicals in their water pipes.

Considering that this job includes encountering all kinds of chemicals, the workers are likely to fall ill easily. Some companies neglect to enforce safety measures. Some workers also ignore the protective gear. For example, one may neglect to wear gumboots because they are hard to move around in or they just do not feel up to it.
